Jack T. Spinella, Esq.

Jack T. Spinella is the Founding Partner of the firm. He advises a variety of businesses, individuals, and non-profit organizations on a wide range of legal and business issues.  He has deep federal and state court experience, specializing in complex commercial and corporate litigation, construction litigation, shareholder and partnership disputes, and general business transactions, advisory, and regulatory matters.  Jack concentrates his practice in corporate counseling and governance, as well as in complex and multi-party litigation with an emphasis in mortgage banking, commercial lending, secured transactions, foreclosures, business torts, trade secrets, corporate/business disputes, commercial real estate matters, construction, liens, and commercial/consumer debt collection. He also handles insurance defense of medical providers’ actions for reimbursement relating to workers’ compensation claims.

In addition to litigation, Jack routinely advises clients on issues involving business formation, governance, restructuring and dissolution, as well as legal compliance and regulatory concerns. He has extensive experience counselling companies throughout all aspects of their businesses, from assessing programs, policies, and procedures and handling employment issues, to conducting risk assessments and evaluating business development plans for legal compliance and long-term growth. When disputes do arise, he has the experience and expertise necessary to find cost-effective and positive solutions that take into account his clients’ business needs.

Jack is admitted to practice in the state courts of New Jersey and New York, in the Federal District Court of New Jersey, the Federal District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Second and Third Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Seton Hall in 1990, and his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1996. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from Montclair University. Before starting the Spinella Law Group LLC, Jack was a partner at a large regional law firm from 2001-2004. Jack is a member of the Morris and Bergen County Bar Associations, and serves as an arbitrator for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He is also a Rule 1:40-12 court-approved mediator and arbitrator with extensive experience in civil matters, general equity, and environmental disputes.

Jack is a gourmet cook with a real appreciation for fine food and the culinary arts, which led to his representation of various bars and restaurants and restaurant groups. He provides quality legal services to the New Jersey/New York area and handles cases throughout the U.S. in both state and federal court.
